The Colorado Tiki Boat will cruise along the entire shoreline of Cherry Creek Reservoir which borders Aurora, Denver and Greenwood Village. The cruise takes visitors past swim beaches, boat launch ramps, wildlife areas, the Dam Tower, the width of the dam, into Pelican Bay and past the sailboats and yachts in the marina. Cruises last about an hour and cost $19 per person
Things to Know About the Cruise
Cruises start at The Wharf, a boat rental shop and landscaped picnic area to the right of the private marina. Public restrooms are located there. The rental office there has snacks, soft drinks, bottled water, 3.2 beer and Mikes Hard Lemonade for sale. Please note that Colorado Parks and Wildlife rules allow only 3.2 beer and fermented beverages in cans on the lake. A full bar is available nearby in The Lake House at the Marina but those alcoholic drinks can not be carried onto the water or boats. The Colorado Tiki Boat provides complimentary bottled water and soft drinks.
About Cherry Creek State Park Entrance
The admission into the Cherry Creek State Park costs $9 per car. People can walk in or bicycle in free. Carpooling is suggested. Many people park at Cherry Creek High School just outside the intersection and carpool. The fee is collected 24 hours a day. There is ample parking inside. However, on a sunny Saturday or Sunday and especially holidays, when the Park Ranger feels that the parking spaces are full they will shut down the gate and let in one car for every car coming in. Walkers and bikers can still come. The marina is less than a mile walk.
